About Us

Tridents Triathlon was originally formed in February 2003, in Dorcan by the founder, Alex Margilewski. Soon the club became so big that it made two branches; Swindon Tridents and Faringdon Tridents. During this time the club was the biggest triathlon club in the UK! Despite training in two different places, members were entitled to train at either site they wanted to, or indeed both.

However in 2007, Swindon Tridents was going to close. Thanks to some dedicated parents and triathletes, we formed a new club, just in Swindon. We called ourselves the "Swindon Junior Triathlon Club" - the junior branch of the Swindon Triathlon Club.

Together with committed coaches and keen young athletes, our aim is to encourage a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing through sport, allow children to excel in a competetive yet friendly environment, and ultimately develope the knowledge of the sport of triathlon.

SJTC is now awell established club, hosting many open and club events, and encouraging club members to compete in other competitions.

We now host one of the few hard surface triathlons in the south of England. Our Triathlon is great for any kind of bike but ideal for "road bikes" and the mainly flat course guarantees good times. This is the benchmark event.
